DSTRTD SGNL
…is a production duo from Germany based in the Rhein/Main area near Frankfurt. The protagonists are Stephan Kessler & Torben Schmidt who teamed up at the end of the year 2022 to start a new electronic project under the flag „DSTRTD SGNL“ (reads distorted signal). Both musicians/producers have a quite impressive history as creative artists. Stephan Kessler e.g. is responsible for music projects such as Art Academy, L’age Synthetique, Aircrash Bureau, 3 Men, Blackstar, or Dark Noize just to name a few, while Torben Schmidt was A&R and product manager for labels and projects like Suck me Plasma, Tetsuo Recordings, Bonzai Records Germany, well known Technoclub Compilation series, Technoclub Records, Fetish Recordings, Mindworx with own music productions such as Mindscape, Noise Control, Aqualite, Cyclotron, Dungeon Keeper and more. After an almost eternal break in their production vita they did restart their productions in 2023 with over 40 songs/remixes produced to date on labels such as Phuture Wax, Union Three, IAMT, Gain Records, Bonzai, Dolma Records, Natura Viva or Acalwan/ZYX. „Recognize“ is the first single release on City Of Drums BLACK LABEL but surely not their last.
